SEVEN METALS, nominally referring to the metallurgic constituents of the 25 singing bowls used on this recording, creates an atmosphere conducive to healing exercises and deep meditation. Created and performed by Benjamin Iobst, the album features an assortment of bowls, varying in size (range from 4-12 inches), origin (Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan) and tonality. Two near half hour tracks are featured, with metal/bamboo chimes ushering in each. The oscillating, vibrational sounds of the bowls has a centering effect on the listener that can either calm one to the point of sleep inducement or bring on the urge to break into devotional chant.
